The Breeza engineering and design team

The story behind every breeze

We are a small, stubborn team of climate engineers, industrial designers, and renters who got tired of choosing between sweating through summer and paying for a system we did not need.

Built in a garage. Tested in apartments. Shipped worldwide.

Breeza began in 2022 with a single question: why is the portable air conditioner market stuck in 2005? Bulky, loud, expensive to run, and ugly enough to hide in a closet. We knew there was a better way, and we set out to prove it from a converted warehouse in Portland, Oregon.

2022

First prototype

A 3D-printed shell wrapped around a salvaged inverter compressor. It cooled a 200 square foot room, but sounded like a vacuum cleaner. We learned a lot.

2024

Field testing

Two hundred beta units shipped to renters across the Pacific Northwest. Every user got a personal call from the founder and a handwritten thank you note in the box.

2026

Mass production

Our first consumer model launches with a dual-hose inverter design, a self-evaporating reservoir, and the quietest portable AC ever independently tested in its class.

What we believe

Cooling is a basic comfort, not a luxury. We build accordingly.

01

Honest engineering

No inflated BTU ratings, no marketing tricks. We publish the real numbers, including the ones that are less flattering, because long-term trust is worth more than short-term sales.

02

Repairable by design

Every Breeza unit is built with twelve standard screws, modular electronics, and a service manual you can download. We sell replacement parts at cost for the lifetime of the product.

03

Right-sized for real homes

We do not chase the biggest unit on the market. We design for the rooms people actually live in: studio apartments, nurseries, home offices, and converted garages.

A team that sweats the small stuff

Breeza is twelve people, two lab benches, and a dog named Celsius. Our engineering leads spent a combined fifteen years at HVAC manufacturers before deciding they could build something better. Our designers came from consumer electronics and furniture brands that care deeply about how an object feels in the hand.

We answer every email ourselves for the first year after your purchase. If something goes wrong, you will hear from the person who designed the part that broke, not a call center reading from a script.
